My name is Shannon Piper and "Stunning" is the first script I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to produce.   I wrote it while active in what is now  "All Writes Reserved" a Kalamazoo based writers group founded and maintained for the purpose of fellowship, support and productivity of local writers, specifically screenwriters.  I began attending the group in 2005 and as the group evolved, attendees were encouraged to write/work on personal projects as well as joint projects.  Stunning is the result of one such project, and was first inspired by the James Blunt song "Beautiful".  Like the song, I wanted to explore the idea of examining an isolated moment between two strangers.  Most people who know my work are familiar with my tendency toward very personal stories told against the backdrop of more abstract events and I usually manage to weave in some type of surprise or twist at the end.  " Stunning" is mostly in keeping with this genre, as the audience becomes a fly on the wall, witnessing a conversation unfold between two strangers early one morning.

Once I had written the short film, I realized it would make a great vehicle to begin what I hoped would become a thriving film making career someday.  Since it involved minimal locations and speaking roles, it seemed the perfect piece to be a debut project.  Since this decision, the project was put on hold, originally being slated for Spring of 2006 but finally filmed in the fall of 2007.  I was lucky enough to meet Chad through my sister and he took immediate interest in helping me to see my story come alive.  I always knew I would play the part of Abralyn.  Philip, whom I acted against in a play in 2006, more recently became my leading man.  Also with the help of my dear friend and fellow writer helping with direction, the kind support and contribution of lots of family and friends filling the roles of extras, and the rest of Chad's very talented crew, we had ourselves a production!
